Box and papers meaning

“Box and papers” means the watch comes with its original packaging and documents: typically the box, warranty or guarantee card, manuals, and sometimes hang tags. It's evidence of a complete, traceable example.
What papers prove, and what they don't
A complete set can support provenance and resale value. But papers can be swapped, forged, or mismatched, so they're one signal among many, not a certificate of authenticity on their own. An honest watch without papers can still be a great buy, and a full set doesn't replace inspection.
How it affects price
Listings are usually described as full set, partial, or watch only. Full sets carry a premium, especially on watches people collect. Check that the serial on the card matches the case, and adjust what you'll pay to what's actually included.
