Fluted bezels explained
fluted bezel
A fluted bezel has crisp, ridged grooves around its circumference — historically aiding grip when the bezel screwed down the crystal, now often a signature light-catching design element.
Look and heritage
Fluting plays with reflection: sharp highlights as the wrist moves. It reads dressier than a flat dive insert on many watches, though it appears across categories. Finish quality separates crisp fluting from soft, mushy ridges.
Practical note
Fluted bezels can catch on knit cuffs more than smooth bezels. If you live in sweaters, try before you commit — or prefer a smoother profile for daily abuse.
